Project Overview

The main goal of the project was to redesign the website of Jomablue to provide clear information on what Jomablue truly offers to its customers.

In the discovery phase, EB Pearls identified that Jomeblue has three different user types. There are producers, marketing managers, and data analysts. Through our development of the home page, we worked to appeal to each of these personas.

User Problems

User Problems

One of the main problems faced by the users of Jomablue’s website was that it was quite difficult to navigate between the pages. When using the sites home page, users would not be able to find sufficient information regarding the services that Jomablue provides.

Business Problems

Business Problems

Due to the lack of clarity of the website’s homepage and the difficulty faced when navigating around the website, the customer conversion rate was not as high as Jomeblue wanted. Therefore, the core reason for doing this project was to update and refresh the website, making it look corporate and to improve conversions so that the requests for demos would increase.

Discovery

During the process of website development, product owners, developers, and designers worked to discover ways to keep users engaged for a longer time. The website required a lot of changes and several issues had to be fixed during the process. Frequent reviews were done and issues were fixed by identifying mismatched expectations early.

Backlog Creation

Backlog Creation

During the project, the product owner had the task of creating, maintaining, and prioritizing the product backlog. After that, the team determined which tasks to complete during a sprint. While moving the product backlog to scrum backlog, the team members expanded each item to more than one sprint tasks so that they could effectively share their work during each sprint.

Backlog Grooming

Backlog Grooming

Backlog prioritisations, as well as modification sessions, were done to minimize ambiguity and maximize clarity. This helped the team understand the upcoming tasks in the backlog. The grooming sessions also allowed time for re-examining user stories based on new information.

Design sprint

Design sprint

Design sprint provided a list of things to do in a specific order. Each activity was completed in the given amount of time. This deadline created time pressure among the team to get things done.

We had to ensure that the website rendered in an appealing way on mobile screens and tablets in order to maximize new users.

Internal testing

Internal testing

We did internal testing to get feedback and improve further. We also focused on having easy navigation to reach the desired screen, as well as prioritising the uniformity of the screens.

Sprint planning

Sprint planning

The scrum team started completing the goals of the specific sprint once the product owner described the objectives of backlog and sprint. The team discussed in more details how they can deliver the selected product backlog items. Likewise, the development team planned the essential tasks to meet the sprint goal.
