Founders of Joy Gift Registry had identified a gap in the market for a Gift Registry targeted specifically for parents and guardians with children. The goal was simple – how do we make it easy for guests to buy presents that the celebrated person would actually want? How do we avoid duplication of presents being bought? Through a simple mobile and web app where a person can set up a wishlist.
Create a wishlist
The person being celebrated is able to set up their own wishlist with all the items they’re hoping to get and link to the website of where they can buy the items. The person can also set up a description of things they dislike so as to avoid an unwanted and wasted gift.
Viewing selection of gifts
In order to avoid duplication of gifts being purchased for the same person. All celebration participants have the option to view the wishlist and see who has already purchased what. Guests can also see a selection of descriptions stating what the person likes or dislikes (such as a certain colour or a certain item).

Like all our engagements, we started with a kickoff workshop. A dedicated UX strategist from EB Pearls sat with the founders of Joy Gift Registry to first understand what we’re trying to achieve and gather some key information that would set the direction of the project.
2. User Experience
Working closely alongside stakeholders from Joy Gift Registry, our UX team began sketching and wireframing key user flows for Joy Gift Registry. After each completed round, we tested this and sought feedback from the client.
3. Branding & Design
Working closely with stakeholders of Joy Gift Registry, our talented team of designers started by crafting out Joy Gift Registry’s brand image, ensuring that the brand was communicating the right message. Following on from this we applied our set-out brand guidelines to the screens to create a stunning UI.
Developing for both iOS mobile application and Web Application in tandem – we and the stakeholders of Joy Gift Registry were able to test each released module on Apples testing app, Testflight. Ironing out any kinks and fixing any bugs in development before launching live.
5. Launching Live
With the first major release launched on time and on budget, the new Gift Registry mobile and web app has been a success.
6. Maintenance & Optimisation
New features and functionality will continuously be added to Joy Gift Registry with EB Pearls.
EB Pearls and Joy Gift Registry collaborated closely together to ensure the mobile and web application was developed and released with all requirements met. The new app is considered to be fun and useful for parents, guardians and people in general. Joy Gift Registry will continue to work closely with EB Pearls to release new features. Joy Gift Registry also went on to create a landing page for the app with EB Pearls.
