Project Overview

Pulse Software needed EB Pearls to redevelop their website. Pulse Software needed their existing website to be moved from an older Zoho platform to a modern WordPress website while updating the design of the website to be more visually appealing and give better functionality for their current and new users. The Pulse Software website needed to convey information to readers in a digestible and interesting manner. Readers had to easily view and understand the products that Pulse Software provides and be enticed to request a demo of these products or submit a contact form through the contact page.

Business Problems

Business Problems

The existing Pulse Software website was built in Zoho. This platform did not allow Pulse Software the flexibility, scalability, accessibility and support that they required. Moving to WordPress allowed Pulse Software to take advantage of the platform and allowed EB Pearls to create a professional and high-quality business website.

Discovery

EB Pearls worked collaboratively with Pulse Software to understand their requirements and the overall scope of the project. We needed to understand the expectations that Pulse Software had of their new website so that knew which areas needed the most focus.

Through these discovery sessions with Pulse Software, we gained a better understanding of the solution that they provide to their customers and the target market that Pulse Software will be aiming the website design towards. This was important as the expansion of the Pulse Software business was one of the primary goals that the new website was aiming to achieve. We also learnt that Pulse Software wanted to double the amount of traffic that their website was receiving, so creating something that would hold the attention of users was important.

We also used these discovery sessions to identify existing websites that the Pulse Software team liked the design and user experience of. This gave us an insight into the expectations that they had and allowed us to align our first designs iterations with Pulse Software’s design inspirations.

Overall these discovery sessions lead to a more collaborative process where we were able to gain a better understanding of Pulse Software’s expectations for both EB Pearls and the new website.

User Experience and Design

Through our discovery sessions with Pulse Software, we were able to understand the goal of the new website’s user experience and the user stories that Pulse Software had identified for their website’s users. When creating the UX and UI for this website, we made sure that we had a focus on the journey that users would be taking, and tailored the website experience to make that journey as seamless as possible.

We went through many collaborative rounds of iterations for both the homepage and internal pages of the Pulse Software website. During this phase, we encouraged Pulse Software to give as much feedback as possible. This made sure that we were able to produce results that were to the exact expectations of the client, and gave us ample opportunities to collect and implement this feedback.

Internal testing

Internal testing

We did internal testing to get feedback and improve further. We focused on having easy navigation to reach the desired page, as well as prioritising the uniformity of the pages.

  • Video Integration: Integration of video on the website homepage to create an attractive landing page for users, keeping users on the website for longer periods of time.
  • Call to Action: Stand out ‘Call to Action’ buttons placed around the website to drive users to book a demo with Pulse Software, leading to increase leads.
  • Colours and Icons: Creative and smart use of the Pulse Software brand guidelines to create an attractive website that is easy to navigate and understand, while being visually appealing for users.
