Project Overview

The goal of this web design project was to create a new, modern and visually appealing website for AWN and Dyson. EB Pearls worked with AWN and Dyson to create something with an outstanding user experience and design, that would keep users engaged and satisfied with their experience of using the website.

EB Pearls worked alongside the client to build a website for AWN, Dyson Jones, and DNA microsite and a WordPress multisite with the same functionality but different color theme.

The aim of the project is to improve long term productivity and profitability as a representative who can guide  from stock selection, through to the sale of wool for short and long term gains. Due to the long and complex supply chain, wool is traditionally sold at auction with no visibility of where it ends up at retail. AWN and Dyson’s unique selling point is that they specialize in direct contracts with processors and brands, and they have a number of supply chain ties with well-known brands and processors.

 

Discovery

EB Pearls worked with the AWN and Dyson team to understand their exact requirements, this included the scope of the project and the expected user journey through the website. This ensured that we were able to create something that matched their vision of the website. EB Pearls needed to understand the type of users that would be using the website, as well as the type of content that they would be looking for. Understanding these user requirements allowed EB Pearls to design the website, to suit the customer needs.

User Experience

We knew from our discovery sessions with the client that a big focus would be placed on enticing website visitors to use the  platform through different features, so this is something we focused on when creating the website user experience and design. We also had to ensure that the website rendered in an appealing way on mobile screens and tablets in order to maximize new users. We did internal testing to get feedback and improve further. We focused on having easy navigation to reach the desired pages, as well as prioritizing the uniformity of the screens.

Retrospective

EB Pearls was able to work with AWN and Dyson to create a website that satisfied all of its needs, as well as the needs of the website’s users. EB Pearls’ team created an excellent user experience and design, using features such as standout images and iconography, to draw in users and push them to use the  platform.
