Project Overview

The goal of this web design project was to create a new, modern and visually appealing website for Matrak, creating page templates for both existing content from their previous website and new custom pages for new content. EB Pearls worked with Matrak to create something with an outstanding user experience and design, that would keep users engaged and satisfied with their experience of using the website. The end goal for the website was to drive visitors to use the Matrak platform via booking a demo. EB Pearls facilitated this through stand out call-to-action design.

Matrak’s original website needed to be migrated into the WordPress platform, and redesigned to make it stand out to users. Matrak needed the custom designed pages that EB Pearls created, to be flexible enough to be used in a variety of situations when migrating existing content, as well as when adding new content to the Matrak website. Matrak also needed the website to be flexible and extendable enough for their administrator to rapidly meet marketing needs.

Discovery

EB Pearls worked with the Matrak team to understand their exact requirements, this included the scope of the project and the expected user journey through the website. This ensured that we were able to create something that matched their vision of the website. EB Pearls needed to understand the type of users that would be using Matrak’s website, as well as the type of content that they would be looking for. Understanding these user requirements allowed EB Pearls to customise the website’s design and experience, to suit Matrak’s customer needs.

User Experience

When creating the user experience and design for Matrak, it was important for our team to understand the vision of the Matrak team, and understand the mindset that users will be in when using the website. This would allow us to create something that appeals to not only Matrak, but also the website’s target audience. We knew from our discovery sessions with Matrak that a big focus would be placed on enticing website visitors to use the Matrak platform via booking a demo, so this is something we focused on when creating the website user experience and design.

We also had to ensure that the website rendered in an appealing way on mobile screens and tablets in order to maximize new users.

We did internal testing to get feedback and improve further. We focused on having easy navigation to reach the desired pages, as well as prioritising the uniformity of the screens.

Retrospective

EB Pearls was able to work with Matrak to create a website that satisfied all of its needs, as well as the needs of the website’s users. EB Pearls’ team created an excellent user experience and design, using features such as standout images and iconography, to draw in users and push them to use the Matrak platform.
