Business Problems

Business Problems

The founders of Vaultd conducted initial research into simplifying and enabling people to create and manage their own wills. Their findings is what allowed EB Pearls to create a mobile app. They wanted to build an app that lets people create and manage their own legally binding wills, without hiring expensive lawyers. We were also requested to create an online web-based questionnaire and landing page for the app. EB pearls worked alongside the client to create a simple and interactive app, focusing on their motto of helping people to organise their wealth and future planning conveniently.

Discovery

At the initial phase of the project, we had to understand the need of Vaultd and aligned our thinking accordingly. Pre-design, during the beginning phase of the app development process, was the primary time where the core concept of the app was identified. At the end of this phase, a roadmap for the project, tech considerations, and some recommendations were presented to the clients. After that, the design phase of the app’s development started, including wireframing, prototyping, and user testing. Before moving onto development, we used the outcomes of the testing to make changes and revisions.

Creating a Task Backlog

Creating a Task Backlog

During the project, the product owner had the task of creating, maintaining, and prioritizing the task backlog. Once the backlog was created, the team determined which tasks should be completed during each development sprint. The team then expanded larger tasks into multiple smaller tasks so that they could effectively share the work during each sprint.

Managing Tasks

Managing Tasks

Task prioritisation and modification sessions were done to minimize ambiguity and maximize clarity. This helped the team understand the upcoming tasks in the backlog. The task management sessions also allowed time for re-examining user stories based on new information.

Design Sprint

Design Sprint

The design sprint ensured that everyone was on the same page and resulted in a successful collaboration by the team. In this process, teams tackled design problems by testing solutions on users. This process is very streamlined and enabled teams to produce deliverables as well as confirm assumptions regarding users.

User Usability Testing

User Usability Testing

The design team used data collected after the testing phase to make further improvements. This testing allowed product teams to find any problems before it reached the end-users. It also helped to identify early bugs which allowed for a smoother launch of the app.

Sprint Planning

Sprint Planning

The scrum team followed all the goals of the specific sprint once the Product Owner described the objectives of the backlog and sprint. In addition, the development team planned the essential tasks to meet the sprint goal. The team then discussed in more detail how they can deliver the selected product backlog items.
